The project aimed to produce a Public Service Announcement (PSA) addressing cyberbullying, employing animation techniques and software tools such as After Effects and Premiere Pro to deliver a powerful and impactful message.

This project involved the comprehensive process of filming, directing, and editing a PSA on cyberbullying, with a primary focus on utilizing animation as the central storytelling medium. Through meticulous planning, storyboard development, and execution using industry-standard software such as After Effects and Premiere Pro, the team created a visually compelling narrative that aimed to raise awareness and provoke meaningful discussion about the issue. The project's scope encompassed various stages, from conceptualization to post-production, with each step carefully orchestrated to maximize the PSA's effectiveness in conveying its message to the audience.

The problem

Despite the prevalence of cyberbullying, there remains a challenge in effectively raising awareness and initiating conversations about this issue using traditional media formats.

Cyberbullying poses a significant threat to individuals of all ages, yet conventional awareness campaigns often struggle to capture the attention of audiences and evoke meaningful responses. The lack of engaging and impactful content limits the effectiveness of these campaigns in fostering understanding and prompting action against cyberbullying. Addressing this challenge requires innovative approaches that leverage animation techniques and contemporary software tools to create compelling narratives that resonate with viewers on a deeper level.

The solution

The solution involves utilizing animation techniques and software tools such as After Effects and Premiere Pro to produce a visually captivating PSA on cyberbullying, designed to raise awareness and provoke meaningful dialogue on the issue.

By harnessing the power of animation, the project aims to create a visually compelling narrative that effectively communicates the impact of cyberbullying and promotes empathy and understanding among viewers. Through meticulous planning, storyboard development, and editing using industry-standard software tools such as After Effects and Premiere Pro, the team endeavors to craft a PSA that resonates with audiences of all ages and inspires action against cyberbullying.

Our Approach

The approach involves a comprehensive process of filming, directing, and editing the PSA, with a primary focus on utilizing animation techniques and software tools such as After Effects and Premiere Pro to convey the message of cyberbullying prevention effectively.

Through collaborative brainstorming sessions and storyboard development, the team outlines the narrative arc of the PSA, ensuring that each frame contributes to the overarching message of empathy and kindness in the face of cyberbullying. Filming techniques and animation sequences are carefully executed to maximize emotional impact, while post-production editing using After Effects and Premiere Pro refines the final product for maximum effectiveness in engaging and educating the audience.

"Sydney stood out immediately. Her talents were easily apparent (she is easily one of the most talented students I have ever had in Computer Art & Design!), but what stood out even more was here willingness to ask for and accept criticism. For someone with as much innate talent as she possesses, it could be easy for Sydney to "phone it in" and still do extremely well in the class. Instead, she is consistently seeking my advice and then actually implementing changes based on that advice. In this time of virtual instruction, it is also relevant to point out that Sydney always comes to class on time, and is the only student who consistently shows herself on video in the Zoom meetings. She clearly takes to heart my request for as meaningful a connection as we can make through the computer screen, and it speaks volumes about her respect and empathy when she does."

"Sydney had also shown numerous leadership qualities in my class. She always had her camera on and made sure to participate often in class. When working in groups she often took the lead and made sure that her group was working efficiently. Not only did she make sure they were working efficiently but also that they were having fun. Sydney knows that people perform best when they are comfortable so she always makes an effort to help the people aroundher feel that way. She helped several of my students this year gain a better understanding of the material inside and outside the classroom. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better student. I sincerely believe that Sydney will bean asset to any organization. I can confidently recommend her for any position or undertaking that she chooses to pursue."
